Inclusiveness: A Mindfulness Peacebuilding Retreat
Our chapter continues to explore ways to practice "being peace" with sangha near and far away. This retreat offered such an opportunity.
Mindful Peacebuilding brings together mindfulness practice, peacebuilding skills, and action for peace and social justice, connecting the cultivation of peace in oneself with peace in the world. Petals of the Mindful Peacebuilding flower include action initiatives, listening circles, mindful holiday gatherings, retreats, classes, service, and consultation in starting these programs. A diverse and inclusive nonresidential community,
Mindful Peacebuilding is open to all who wish to engage with societal challenges in a mindful context. For more info, please email mindfulpeacebuilding@gmail.com or join the Facebook group.
Please stay tuned for more opportunities to support from wherever we are!

Manifesting Change
We came together for our monthly gathering on Sunday, February 24, 2008, from 2 - 5 PM at The Village Zendo’s new location in Suite 1108, on the 11th Floor of 588 Broadway, to join a free experiential workshop called Manifesting Change, led by Dr. Monica Sharma, a Director of Leadership and Capacity Development at the United Nations.
Sometimes those of us who feel great sadness and compassion in our world feel as though there is little we can do to change what we see. Yet each of us has the possibility of initiating and leading profound change within our selves, our communities, and globally. The afternoon’s theme was about opening to the possibilities of change by rediscovering what makes us feel alive and connected to each other, our lives and our world.
